Ponzu Chicken Breast (Simple Recipe)
This flavorful Ponzu Chicken Breast recipe needs only a few ingredients and a few minutes to make! Perfect for a simple and tasty lunch or dinner!

The reason I love this Ponzu chicken recipe is that it is delicious served warm or cold. My favorite way to enjoy this is with a side of fresh cucumber and rice for a delicious dinner. Or make a Bahn mi style chicken sandwich with pickled veggies for lunch!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Ponzu sauce
- sugar
- toasted sesame oil
- cooking oil
- garlic cloves
- boneless skinless chicken breast
- salt and pepper

What is Ponzu? Ponzu sauce is a marinade normally made with soy sauce, vinegar, citrus juice, sugar, and mirin. This is a great condiment to keep in the fridge if you want to jazz up almost any savory dish! Check out our ponzu pork meatballs dish here!

Ponzu Chicken Recipe
Servings 2-3
Ingredient
- 1/4 cup Ponzu sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 Tablespoon garlic cloves, minced
- 8-10 Ounce boneless skinless chicken breast, diced into 1/2 inch pieces.
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Prep the ingredients according the ingredient list above. In a small bowl combine the Ponzu, sugar, sesame oil and a nice pinch of salt and pepper
- Add the cooking oil to a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken pieces in the heated pan
- Cook the chicken pieces for about 6 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway, until cooked and no longer pink. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper
- Add the minced garlic and pour in the Ponzu sauce. Cook for 1 minute or so until the sauce has thickened a bit and the chicken is coated. Take off heat. Taste and season with salt and pepper to your preference.
- Enjoy with rice and chopped cucumbers!
