Some of my friends have told me they thought canned tuna was “gross”. I’ve made this recipe for them and they are converted immediately. The chickpeas, tuna, spinach and diced onion work so well together! This chickpea tuna salad is nutritious and delicious!

Is canned tuna healthy?
Canned tuna is rich in protein and contains many vitamins and minerals. Tuna also contains healthy omega 3 essential fatty acids DHA and EPA. Read more about tuna nutrition at BumbleBee!
“Though tuna is very nutritious, it’s also high in mercury compared to most other fish. Therefore, it should be eaten in moderation — not every day, once or twice a week.” Read more at Healthline

My all time favorite way to eat this chickpea tuna salad is with some tortilla chips and nacho cheese! Tuna fish nachos are so underrated and my guilty pleasure on the weekends. I make a small batch of nacho cheese and pour it over the chips and tuna salad… so good!
If its a weekday I normally toast up a nice piece of some type of bread. Then add sliced cheddar cheese and top it with the tuna salad. Its simple; but truly a delight to eat!
