I make this recipe on the weekend to have a batch of these oat balls to snack on throughout the week. They make a great work or school snack that you can pack easily in a lunch box. Plus, it provides a bit of healthy plant based protein and energy!

Peanut Butter
Peanut butter is a delicious source of protein, especially for people who have a vegetarian diet. Its packed antioxidants that help support a healthy immune system. We use creamy PB for this recipe but chunky peanut butter would work great too!
Chocolate Chips
We use semi sweet chocolate chips as it a nice medium between delicious taste and health benefits. “Semisweet is dark chocolate with less sugar (typically half the amount) than other types – Fitday.

Honey
The honey in our peanut butter balls adds a delicious sweetness and is a great alternative to white or brown sugar as honey contains antioxidants and propolis. But just like almost everything in life, only consume in moderation.
Quick Oats
“Raw oats are nutritious, high in the soluble fiber, and improve your blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and heart and gut health.” –Heathline. The quick oats add a nice texture and is very filling keeping you fuller longer.

Even though these peanut butter & chocolate oat balls have healthy ingredients , I do enjoy them as a dessert. The combination of the chocolate chips, peanut butter paired with the oats and honey is so good. If you’re looking for an easy snack or healthy dessert idea, give this a try!
