The Pizookie or Cast-Iron cookie first originated at a restaurant known for deep dish pizzas called BJ’s. They created a cookie that is cooked in a cast iron skillet like a deep dish pizza.
What You Will Need To Make This Cookie?
This tasty recipe is the ultimate dessert, making it the ideal for birthdays, valentines day or when you want to treat yourself. Best part is its very easy to make. Here’s what you’ll need to make this recipe:
- unsalted butter
- egg
- brown sugar
- vanilla extract
- cinnamon
- salt
- all-purpose flour
- very ripe bananas
- semi chocolate chips
- cooking spray

How To Make a Cast Iron Banana Chocolate Chip Cookie
- Preheat the oven to 350°F . Adjust oven rack to middle top position. Grease a 10 inch cast iron skillet with cooking spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl, add the room temp. butter and brown sugar. With a hand mixer, mix for about 2 minutes or until the mixture becomes creamy. Add in the egg, vanilla extract and mix until combined


- In a smaller bowl, mix together the flour, cinnamon and salt until blended.
- Add the flour bowl to the sugar bowl. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, mix completely. Fold in the mashed banana into the batter until fully incorporated. Then gently mix in the chocolate chips

- Evenly pour the batter into the prepared cast iron skillet
- Bake for 27-33 minutes, rotating the cast iron halfway through, until golden brown and the center is baked through.
- Enjoy alone or with a scoop of ice cream

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup mashed very ripe banana
- 1 cup semi chocolate chips
- cooking oil or spray (for greasing the skillet)
Instructions
