How To Make this Smothered Pork Chop Recipe:
I love pork with a savory and/or sweet toppings. It is perfect for when you are craving something comforting, especially paired with a side of mashed potatoes. We start off by searing pork chops, it gives it a nice crust on the outside, and tender on the inside! Heres how to make our Bacon Mushroom Pork Chops:
- Clean all the vegetables and prep accordingly (prep instructions in ingredients list). Season the pork chops with a pinch of salt and pepper on both sides, set aside.
- Heat 2 Tbsp of oil on a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, 1 tsp salt, paprika, garlic powder, thyme and 1/2 tsp pepper.
- Press the pork chops in flour mixture evenly coating, shaking off the excess. Reserve remaining flour mixture for a later step. Place the pork chops in the hot pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden. Remove to a plate and set aside.

- Reduce heat to medium. In the same pan, Add the butter. Stir in the chopped bacon and cook about 2-3 minutes, stirring often.
- Stir in the shallots and mushrooms, cook until softened and bacon browned about 3 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper
- Add chicken broth, half & half and 1Tbsp of the reserved flour mixture; combine completely and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring often. Bring liquid to a simmer over medium heat.

- Once simmering, add the pork chops back to the pan and cook until the sauce has reduced and the pork is cooked, about 4-5 minutes flipping halfway (internal temperature of 145 degrees F).
- Serve with mashed potatoes!
