12 Breadsticks
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast fast acting
- 2 Tbsp white granulated sugar
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter; Divided and melted
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour (use more if needed)
- 1/2 tsp garlic butter seasoning
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, add the warm water, instant yeast and sugar. Mix together, cover with a clean kitchen towel and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the flour and salt. Pour the flour mixture into the bowl with the yeast mixture. Pour in 2 Tbsp melted unsalted butter. Stir until the mixture comes together.
- Move the dough to a floured area and knead for 5 minutes until you form a soft dough ball. (Add more flour if getting too sticky.)
- Grease a large bowl and add the dough ball. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 & 1/2 hours.
- On a floured surface, roll the dough out into a large rectangle. Divide the dough in half. Divide each half into 6 pieces (12 pieces total; see photos above).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece into Breadsticks, pinching the ends and tucking under. Then transfer onto 2 greased baking sheets (Seam side down)
- Cover with the kitchen towel for 45 minutes. While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Bake on middle rack for 12-14 minutes until lightly browned. While baking, melt the 2 Tbsp butter in microwave for 30 seconds increments until melted.
- Once done baking, remove from oven and brush the Breadsticks with the melted butter. Sprinkle the garlic butter seasoning on top and enjoy!
